The PTFE and stainless steel provide a low-friction contact surface, and the polyurethane provides the flex needed for suspension articulation and vibration isolation. Between the urethane and the body on each end, we add a very tough nylon thrust washer to protect the relatively soft urethane where it would otherwise contact the body and wear out rapidly, like regular urethane LCA \"bushings\" do. The result is a completely maintenance-free bushing\/mount system that outlasts anything else on the market. No grease required!
