This special bolt is used to attach the high pressure power steering hose to the power steering pump.

Both the OE VW high pressure hoses and the GW aftermarket hose have a fitting that holds the power steering switch, the sensor that tells your fuel injection system when power steering loads rise and may drag your idle slower. To relocate the sensor terminals for easier access, you can install the sensor directly into this bolt and use the included plug and washers to seal the original port.

Note: DO NOT short the power steering switch wires to ground. One of them is unfused 12V, and shorting it to ground can damage your wiring and ECU. This is an excellent reason to relocate this switch, as the original locations places the terminals treacherously close to the alternator.
