It should also be noted that this system does not have the ability to upshift or downshift your vehicle, nor can it be expected to maintain your chosen vehicle speed at all times over all terrains. Given the fact that Vanagons are relatively underpowered, and feature non-electronically-controlled transaxles, there will be occasions where an incline is simply too steep for this cruise control system to maintain speed, and it will auto-disengage.
