2WD Ring & Pinion Set

If you have a 2WD Vanagon, and you want taller gearing to get those highway RPMs down even further, then you need a 4.57 ring and pinion set. This ratio has some seriously long legs! It is 5.3% taller than the original final ring and pinion, which means it lowers the engine speed in all gears by 5.3% at any given vehicle speed. This gearing change is equivalent to installing a tire that is about 1” taller in diameter.
