Will this headlight adjuster fit my Vanagon?

This Headlight Adjuster for Upper Inboard Driving Lens is specifically designed to fit 1986-1991 Vanagon models equipped with the late-style rectangular headlights. It works for both 2WD and Syncro variants as long as they use the stock upper inboard driving lens. If you have a different headlight setup or an earlier Vanagon (pre-1986), this adjuster will not fit correctly. Double-check your headlight housing type before ordering to ensure proper fitment.

How durable is the plastic on this adjuster, and how should I handle it during installation?

Customer reviews and experience show that this adjuster is made from quality plastic to match OEM standards, but like all Vanagon headlight adjusters, it can be brittle, especially after decades of use or exposure. To avoid breakage, handle the part gently and avoid over-tightening during installation. Make sure to prep the area and use hand tools rather than power tools. If you need to replace more than one adjuster, consider ordering a bundle for extra value and to ensure consistency on both headlights.

How difficult is it to replace the upper inboard driving lens adjuster on my Vanagon?

Replacing the Vanagon headlight adjuster for the upper inboard driving lens is a straightforward DIY job requiring basic tools. Most owners can complete the task in less than an hour per adjuster. We recommend reviewing GoWesty’s installation resources and support articles if you’re new to the process. Be patient, handle the adjuster gently to avoid cracking, and take note of the original alignment for easier reassembly. If you need help, GoWesty’s customer support is always ready to assist with step-by-step guidance.
