Which Vanagon years and models does this power mirror gasket fit?

This gasket is designed to fit all Volkswagen Vanagon models equipped with power mirrors from 1980 to 1991. It will fit both driver and passenger side mirrors on these model years.

Is the gasket sold individually or as a set? Does it come with any hardware?

The gasket for the power mirror is sold individually. Hardware is not included, as this gasket is meant to replace the original rubber seal only. If you need mounting screws or other components, they must be sourced separately.

How difficult is it to install this gasket? What tools or skills do I need?

Installation is straightforward and can be done with basic hand tools. All you need is a screwdriver to remove and reinstall the mirror. No advanced skills are necessary—this is a simple DIY project that most Vanagon owners can handle themselves.

Why should I replace a worn or missing mirror base gasket?

Replacing a worn or missing gasket helps prevent water and moisture from getting inside your door, which can lead to rust and electrical issues. A good gasket also helps keep your mirror mounted securely, reducing vibration and noise while driving.
