Will this alternator V-belt fit my Vanagon? I have a 1988, but I'm not sure if it matters.

Yes, this Gates alternator and water pump V-belt is designed to fit all 1983-1991 Vanagons, including your 1988 model. It works with both 2WD and 4WD, and both automatic and manual transmissions. Just make sure your Vanagon is within those model years!

Should I replace all my Vanagon belts at once? Seems like a hassle and more expensive.

Yes, it's a great idea! Your Vanagon only has three belts, and replacing them all at the same time ensures everything runs smoothly. We actually recommend it, which is why we offer a V-Belt Bundle with an A/C belt to save you money compared to buying them separately. Plus, you won't have to worry about replacing another belt anytime soon.

Is this V-belt good quality? I don't want to get stranded on the road!

Absolutely! This is a high-quality Gates brand belt, known for its durability and reliability. Our customers consistently rate this belt with 5 stars, with comments specifically mentioning the excellent quality and perfect fit, including fit for Westfalia Campers and Weekenders, meaning you can trust that it will keep your Vanagon running reliably.
