Why is this specific seal so important for my Vanagon's transmission and differential?

This seal is critical because it prevents differential gear oil from leaking into your automatic transmission fluid, and vice versa. If these fluids mix, it can lead to serious damage and costly repairs to both systems. This seal ensures they stay separated, maintaining the proper lubrication and function of each part.

I need to replace the seal on my Vanagon. How many of these seals do I actually need to buy?

For each vehicle, you will need TWO seals. They are installed back-to-back between the differential case and the automatic transmission case to create a proper seal.

Will this seal fit my 1985 Vanagon with an automatic transmission?

Yes, this Seal for Automatic Transmission to Differential is designed to fit all Vanagon models manufactured between 1980 and 1991 that are equipped with an automatic transmission.

Is this an original manufacturer part, or a replacement? What's the quality like?

This is a Quality Aftermarket part. It's manufactured to meet or exceed the performance and durability standards of the original equipment, ensuring a reliable fit and function for your Vanagon's transmission and differential.
