What exactly is this Air Duct Cover for my Vanagon, and where does it go?

This is a quality aftermarket air duct cover specifically designed for the front driver and passenger door jambs of your Vanagon, located at the B-pillar. It helps to seal up openings that can cause air leaks and drafts.

Will this door jamb cover fit my 1988 Vanagon?

Yes, this air duct cover is compatible with all 1980-1991 Vanagon models, including your 1988. It's a direct fit for the front door jambs.

Why do I need an air duct cover, and how will it help my Vanagon?

Over time, the original covers can deteriorate or get lost, leading to drafts and potential water intrusion. Installing this cover helps to restore a proper seal, reducing air leaks, improving cabin comfort, and protecting the interior from the elements. It's a simple part that makes a noticeable difference.

Is this Vanagon air duct cover difficult to install? Does it relate to door locks or latches?

Installation is generally straightforward, often involving just a few screws or clips. While related to the door jamb area where locks and latches are housed, this cover specifically addresses the air duct opening. Most owners find they can install it themselves without special tools.
