Will this Pair of Door Lock Knobs fit my 1977 Volkswagen Bus, even if it’s a Westfalia Camper with an automatic transmission?

Yes! This pair of door lock knobs is specifically designed to fit all 1974-1979 Volkswagen Type 2 Buses, including Westfalia Camper, 7-Passenger, Campmobile, and Passenger models. They are fully compatible regardless of whether your Bus has a manual or automatic transmission or engine type. Just match the model year and you’re good to go!

How hard is it to install these Door Lock Knobs? Do I need special tools or experience?

Installing these Quality Aftermarket door lock knobs is a straightforward, DIY-friendly process. You don’t need any special tools—usually just a gentle twist by hand to remove your old knobs and screw on the new ones. This makes for a quick upgrade whether you’re restoring your doors or just replacing worn-out knobs. If your current knobs are stuck, a gentle grip with pliers (with a cloth to protect the finish) helps. No special skills required—just a few minutes and you’re done!

How do these Quality Aftermarket door lock knobs compare to original VW parts or other replacements?

These Quality Aftermarket door lock knobs (part number 171-837-187-2) are made to closely match the fit and function of original VW parts for 1974-1979 Buses. GoWesty selects them for their reliability and value, ensuring a snug fit on your factory lock rods just like the originals. They're a great option if you want a cost-effective replacement without sacrificing the look or feel of your Bus’s interior. Plus, by buying a set of two, you keep both doors looking sharp and working smoothly!
