How many of these intake manifold gasket assemblies do I need for my engine?

You will need two of these assemblies per engine to complete your repair.

Will the 025-129-717C assembly fit my specific Vanagon year and model?

Yes, this assembly is designed to work with all 1983-1991 Vanagon Waterboxer engines, including 2WD and 4WD models such as the Westfalia Camper, Weekender, Multivan, and Passenger versions.

If I already bought a complete engine gasket set, do I still need to buy these separately?

Yes. These specific insulators are NOT included in the complete engine gasket sets or the cylinder head gasket sets, so they must be purchased separately.

Why should I replace these instead of trying to clean and reuse my old gaskets?

The original insulators become very brittle over time, making them nearly impossible to remove in one piece. Replacing them ensures a proper seal and avoids the difficult task of scraping old gaskets off the engine.
