Does this Front Wiper Washer Reservoir fit my Vanagon? I have a 1986 model.

This front wiper washer reservoir is designed to fit Vanagon models from 1980 through 1991. It's a direct replacement for most standard setups, but please note it will NOT fit the less common Vanagons equipped with headlight wipers.

I'm replacing my old washer fluid bottle. Do I need any other parts besides this reservoir?

You'll definitely want to grab the rubber grommets! This reservoir doesn't come with the washer pump grommet or the filler neck grommet. It's highly recommended to replace these old rubber parts at the same time you install the new reservoir to ensure a good seal and prevent leaks. You can find these separately on our site.

Is this a genuine VW part, or an aftermarket one?

This is a quality aftermarket replacement reservoir. While we strive to offer OEM parts whenever possible, this particular item is from a reputable aftermarket manufacturer. It's been confirmed to fit correctly and function just like the original equipment for your Vanagon.

My old reservoir is cracked and leaking. How difficult is this Wiper Washer Reservoir replacement to install myself?

Installation is generally straightforward, especially since this reservoir is designed for a perfect fit. Most customers find they can tackle this replacement themselves. The main thing to remember is to have those new grommets ready to go, as mentioned in FAQ #2. Taking care of the grommets at the same time will save you from having to potentially remove the reservoir again later.
