Will this H4 headlight sealing cap fit my VW Bus or Vanagon?

This sealing cap is designed specifically for 1968–1979 Volkswagen Type II Buses and 1980–1991 Vanagons that have been upgraded to H4 headlamp lenses. If your headlights are the standard sealed beam or a different bulb type, this cap won't fit. Double-check your headlight setup to make sure you’re using H4 lenses before ordering.

Is this an original VW part or aftermarket? How's the quality?

This sealing cap is a Quality Aftermarket part, not a genuine VW original. That said, it gets great reviews for fit, seal, and durability—it keeps out moisture and dirt just like (or better than) the originals, protecting your vintage headlights and wiring from the elements.

How hard is it to install this H4 bulb cap on my VW? Do I need any special tools?

Installation is really straightforward! Just remove your old cap (or whatever’s there), slip this new one over the back of the H4 bulb and lens, and make sure it forms a snug seal. No fancy tools or special skills needed—most DIYers can handle this in a few minutes.

How many sealing caps do I need to buy for my VW? Are they sold in pairs?

These H4 headlight sealing caps are sold individually, so if you’re replacing both headlight caps, you'll want to order two per vehicle. Always a good idea to check both sides, since old caps often crack or deform with age!

Will this cap stop condensation or fogging inside my headlights?

Yes, that’s exactly what this sealing cap is for! By keeping moisture, dirt, and dust out of your H4 headlights, it helps prevent condensation and fogging that can mess with visibility and bulb life. Just make sure you install it securely for the best protection.
