Will this hydraulic lifter fit my 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon with a 2WD gasoline engine?

Yes, the GoWesty Hydraulic Lifter fits all Vanagon gasoline engines from 1978 through 1991, including your 1985 2WD model. It’s compatible regardless of manual or automatic transmission.

Can I buy just one lifter or do I need to buy the whole set?

You can purchase the GoWesty Hydraulic Lifter individually, in 4-packs, or in full 8-packs. Since the engine uses 8 lifters, buying a full set is ideal for a complete replacement, but you can buy fewer if you're only fixing a specific issue.

How difficult is it to install this lifter myself?

Many customers find the GoWesty Hydraulic Lifter straightforward to install, especially with basic mechanical skills. It comes from a trusted quality brand, and there are plenty of installation guides available to help make the process easier.

Is this the same quality lifter used in GoWesty engine builds?

Absolutely! These top-tier Moresa brand lifters are the same ones used in all GoWesty engine builds, trusted by thousands for reliability and durability.

How can I be sure this part is authentic and will last?

The part number 022-109-309 is original equipment from Moresa, Volkswagen's trusted supplier. GoWesty only offers genuine parts, and our customers consistently rate these lifters highly for reliability and long-term performance.
