Will this power steering fluid reservoir fit my Vanagon?

Yes, this power steering fluid reservoir is designed to fit all Vanagons equipped with power steering, covering model years from 1984 to 1991. It's compatible with both 2WD and 4WD models and various configurations.

What parts are included with this power steering reservoir kit?

This kit includes the main reservoir, the main cap, and the green fill cap. While some customers note a built-in mesh, GoWesty still advises that using a filter is important for your power steering system.

Is this a suitable replacement for a cracked or leaking power steering reservoir?

Absolutely. This is a high-quality aftermarket replacement directly from Germany, often referred to as 'the real mccoy.' Customers have reported it as a perfect fit for replacing old, brittle, or cracked reservoirs.

What is the recommended method for removing the tight cap from the new power steering reservoir?

The main cap can be very tight due to factory sealing. Significant force may be needed. Using large channel locks or a bench vice with protective materials like shop rags is recommended. An extra pair of hands can also be helpful.
