Will this return spring fit my 1978 VW Type II Bus?

Yes, this return spring is designed to fit all 1971-79 Type II Buses, including your 1978 model. It’s made to match the original spring dimensions for a perfect fit and restored throttle action.

How does replacing the throttle body return spring help my vehicle?

Over time, the original throttle body spring can get worn out or lose tension, causing sticky throttle or delayed return. Installing this spring will restore crisp throttle return, improving responsiveness and preventing throttle sticking issues.

Is this a genuine OEM part or an aftermarket replacement?

This is a high-quality aftermarket replacement part specially made to meet or exceed the original specs. It offers reliable performance and durability at a great value for your VW Type II Bus or Vanagon.

What should I check before installing this return spring?

Make sure your throttle body is clean and free from debris. Inspect the throttle linkage for wear or damage. This spring directly replaces the worn original spring, so confirming fitment for your 1971-91 Type II Bus or Vanagon is key for best results.

I’ve heard this spring improves throttle snap—is that true?

Yes, many customers have reported that installing this return spring brings back the crisp throttle snap they experienced with a new vehicle, enhancing your driving feel and addressing sticky or sluggish throttle response.
