Will the GoWesty Billet Upper Cover for Thermostat Housing fit my 1986–1991 VW Vanagon?

Yes! This Billet Upper Cover is designed to fit all 1986–1991 VW Vanagon models, including 2WD and 4WD, as well as every trim such as Westfalia Camper, Wolfsburg Weekender, Multivan, Carat, and Passenger models. It works with both automatic and manual transmissions, ensuring perfect fitment as a direct replacement for your original thermostat housing cover.

What’s included with the Billet Upper Thermostat Housing Cover, and is installation easy?

Everything you need is included in the kit: the billet aluminum upper cover, a pre-installed bleed nipple, four stainless internal hex fasteners, and four stainless washers. The cover is engineered for a straightforward installation that matches the original part, so if you’re comfortable with basic tools and DIY jobs, you can easily swap it out yourself and enjoy a tidy, leak-free result.

Why should I upgrade to this billet cover instead of keeping the factory thermostat housing?

This GoWesty Billet Upper Cover for Thermostat Housing is machined from ultra-durable billet aluminum and comes with stainless steel hardware, offering superior strength and reliability compared to the stock plastic or cast part. It eliminates a common source of coolant leaks and thermostat housing failures in Vanagons, so you can count on a safer, longer-lasting cooling system. Plus, it matches perfectly with the GoWesty Billet Thermostat Housing Kit for seamless style and performance.
