How many of these front upper spring pads do I actually need for my Vanagon?

For your Vanagon, you'll need one front upper Spring Pad for each side of the vehicle to cushion the top of the front coil springs. So, if you're replacing both sides, be sure to order two! This part is sold individually.

Will this front spring pad fit my specific Vanagon year?

Yes, this quality aftermarket Spring Pad is designed to fit all 1980-1991 Vanagon models. This includes both the standard rear-wheel drive and the Syncro 4x4 variants, ensuring a great fit for most Vanagon owners.

What's the difference between this and the lower spring pad?

This part is specifically the upper Spring Pad, meaning it sits on top of your front coil spring. The lower pad would typically sit at the bottom of the spring. This upper pad is crucial for proper spring seating and ride comfort on the front suspension.

I'm replacing my shocks, should I replace my front spring pads at the same time?

It's a great idea to inspect your front upper Spring Pad whenever you're doing work on your front suspension, especially when replacing shocks or bushings. If the old one is cracked, worn, or compressed, replacing it now will ensure your new shocks perform optimally and contribute to a smoother ride. It's a relatively inexpensive part that offers significant benefits when in good condition.
