My Vanagon is missing front cup holders - will this really fix that problem and hold my coffee mug?

Absolutely! This is a common frustration for Vanagon owners, and this console cup holder is designed specifically to solve that. Made from durable ABS plastic, it's built to withstand the heat and sun inside your van. It securely fits over the shifter console and features holders designed to accommodate a wide range of cup and mug sizes, so your morning coffee or travel beverages will have a dedicated spot.

What Vanagon models does this cup holder kit work with?

This cup holder console is designed to fit your 1980 through 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon models. It's a direct fit designed to integrate cleanly with your existing shifter console.

How hard is it to install this cup holder? Do I need special tools?

Installation is straightforward and doesn't require special tools. The cup holder comes in two parts that fit together and then securely attach to your shifter console using the included 5 screws – one in the front and two on each side. Most owners find it an easy DIY project.

I see there are two styles - what's the difference between the 'with tray' and 'without tray' options?

The choice depends on your needs! Both styles provide convenient cup holders for both the driver and passenger. The 'with tray' version includes an extra storage tray integrated into the console, perfect for holding your phone, keys, sunglasses, or other small essentials. The 'without tray' version keeps things simple with just the two cup holders.

Will the ABS plastic get brittle or warp from the sun and heat in my Vanagon?

No need to worry about that! This cup holder is specifically made from ABS plastic, a material known for its excellent resistance to heat and sun exposure. It's designed to hold up well in the typical temperatures found inside a Vanagon, ensuring it remains functional and looks good for a long time.
