What happens if I lose my Circlip while replacing my Vanagon rear hatch struts?

These small clips are very easy to lose or break during a strut replacement. That is why we offer this specific replacement part (part number 97633A150) so you can complete your installation without delay.

Will this Circlip fit my specific Vanagon model?

Yes, this part works with Vanagon models from 1980 through 1991, including the Westfalia Camper, Carat/Hard Top Weekender, Multivan, and Passenger models, regardless of whether you have a 2WD or 4WD and Manual or Automatic transmission.

How many clips are included in one order?

The Circlip for Rear Hatch Struts is sold individually. Since they are tiny and easy to misplace, some customers recommend buying a few extras to keep on hand.

Do you have any tips for installing the circlip without losing it?

Because these parts are so small, some users suggest running a piece of fishing line through the clip hole during installation. This prevents the clip from disappearing if it pops off before it is fully seated.
