Keyless Entry Kit:
Fits Vanagons equipped with a factory power door lock (PDL) system that was operated using the key in either front door to unlock/lock all doors. Our GoWesty Keyless Entry kit taps into the factory PDL wiring harness and upgrades the existing system to keyless entry to unlock and lock all doors with the push of a button on a key fob in addition to using one of the keys in the front doors.
Fits Eurovans equipped with a factory power door lock (PDL) system that was operated using the key in either front door to unlock/lock all doors OR those with factory equipped keyless entry. Almost all Eurovans sold in the USA came equipped some sort of PDL, some with a keyless entry key fob that was part of the “master” key. If your Eurovan did not have keyless entry, our GoWesty Keyless Entry kit taps into the factory PDL wiring harness and upgrades the existing system to keyless entry to unlock and lock all doors with the push of a button on a key fob in addition to using one of the keys in the front doors. If your Eurovan came with a keyless entry key fob that was part of the key, you may find it is impossible or prohibitively expensive to find a replacement. Our GoWesty Keyless Entry kit replaces these expensive and hard to find OEM keyless entry fobs for a fraction of the price.
Keyless Entry + Actuator Kit:
This kit is for Vanagon without factory PDL, only: Most Vanagons did not come with any sort of PDL. This is an affordable, more complete GoWesty PDL kit with keyless entry for any Vanagon without factory PDL. This kit includes everything you need to add keyless operated PDL. Note: this kit adds PDL to the two front doors, only—not the slider or rear hatch.
Note: These kits involve cutting and splicing into wiring which may not be within everyone's ability. Read through these instructions carefully and decide if installing it is for you. If not, please take your vehicle to an automotive electrician. Wiring errors can be troublesome and hazardous.
