Does this kit come with the actual roof rack bars, or just the mounting parts?

This kit includes the bolt-on mounting brackets and clamps designed to attach to your Westfalia or Eurovan Weekender's pop-top. It does NOT include the crossbars themselves. You'll need to purchase Yakima crossbars separately to complete your roof rack system. We recommend checking out the complete bundle if you want everything included, or look for Yakima bars that fit your needs.

How many brackets do I really need for a solid roof rack setup?

The number of brackets you need depends on what you plan to carry and how heavy it is. For smaller items or lighter loads, two brackets might suffice. However, for maximum stability and to support heavier gear like kayaks or larger storage boxes, we recommend using four or even six brackets. You can choose the quantity that best suits your adventure needs – kits are available in 2, 4, or 6 bracket options.

Will installing these brackets damage my pop-top camper van roof?

The goal was to combine our hugely popular billet crossbar tower with a bolt-on mounting bracket for a simple and stout adventure-ready rack solution.

Our brackets and clamps mount Yakima crossbars just above the pop-top roof. The result keeps your load as low as possible while maintaining a secure, rock-solid attachment that won't weaken your pop-top or create weather-proofing issues. Compared to bulkier alternatives, this system delivers a cleaner, more affordable, low-profile setup that looks right at home on your vehicle. Toss your toys on top and hit the road!

Kit details: Finished in a textured black powder coat, each pair of machined billet aluminum brackets and clamps include high-quality stainless hardware to mount them to your fiberglass pop-top. Yakima Crossbars sold separately.

Note: We designed our brackets to place the X-bar as low as possible with the bracket installed as shown. If you already have Yakima towers and artificial rain gutters installed, you will need to mount our bracket higher (not recommended), make a spacer (not easy), or replace your Yakima artificial rain gutters and towers with the GoWesty system, which is way, way better (optimal).
