Will this distributor cap fit my 1975 Type 2 Bus, and what ignition wires do I need?

Yes, this distributor cap (part #03-010) is designed to fit your 1975 Type 2 Bus. However, it's important to note that it does not have pin-type spark plug connectors. For proper compatibility and performance, we highly recommend using it with our GoWesty steering wheel lock part #27462 ignition wire set specifically designed for this cap.

I have a late-model Vanagon (around '85) with the 1.9 water-cooled engine. Will this distributor cap work for me?

Absolutely! This distributor cap (part #03-010) is compatible with 1.9 liter water-cooled Vanagons from 1983 to 1985 and all air-cooled Vanagons from 1980 to 1983. Just be sure to pair it with the recommended GoWesty wire set #27462 for optimal results.

My current Vanagon distributor cap has boot-style connectors. Will this GoWesty cap replace it directly?

This particular distributor cap (part #03-010) does not use pin-type spark plug connectors, meaning it's not a direct replacement for all types of caps, especially those with boot-style connectors. It's engineered to work specifically with spark plug wire set #27462. If your existing wires aren't compatible with this setup, you'll need to replace them with the recommended set.

What years of Vanagon and Type 2 Bus does this distributor cap definitively NOT fit?

This GoWesty distributor cap, part #03-010, is designed for 1968-1985 Type 2 Buses, air-cooled Vanagons (1980-1983), and 1.9 liter water-cooled Vanagons (1983-1985). It will not fit earlier models before 1968 or later Vanagon models with different engine configurations. Always confirm your vehicle's year and engine type before purchasing.
