Which Vanagon years is this Rubber Step Pad compatible with?

This replacement front step pad is designed to fit all 1980-1991 Vanagon models, including Westfalia Campers, Multivans, and Carat/Hard Top Weekenders, regardless of whether you have a 2WD or 4WD vehicle.

Will the passenger side pad match the driver side if I buy them separately?

Because we source these pads from several different manufacturers, we cannot guarantee that the rubber material or traction pattern will match the other side exactly. However, we guarantee that they will fit and work for your Vanagon.

Is this Rubber Step Pad easy to install on my own?

Yes, most customers find it easy to install. Some users recommend using a rubber mallet to pop it into place. For a tighter fit, we suggest getting underneath the vehicle to ensure the tab flaps are secure around the holes.

What should I do if the pad feels loose after installation?

While these are designed to fit, some owners have found that adding a bit of adhesive or glue helps keep the pad securely in place and prevents it from moving during use.
