How can I make sure this locking gas cap will fit my Eurovan before I order?

This locking gas cap is specifically designed for late-model Volkswagen Eurovans from 1999 to 2003 that have a screw-type base. If your original gas cap screws on and off (rather than twists into bayonet-style slots), this is the correct replacement. It won't fit earlier models or Eurovans with bayonet-style fuel filler necks. If you have questions about identifying your cap style, check your current gas cap—it should have threads compatible with a screw-on design.

Will installing this aftermarket locking gas cap prevent fuel leaks or Check Engine lights?

Yes, this replacement locking gas cap is designed to create a proper seal on your 1999–2003 Eurovan’s fuel tank. A worn or loose gas cap can trigger the Check Engine light due to an emissions system leak, or even cause fuel vapors to escape. Upgrading to this properly sealing, secure aftermarket cap can resolve those issues and help keep your emissions system working as it should.

How easy is it to install this Eurovan locking gas cap? Does it come with keys, and how reliable is the lock?

Installation is simple—just unscrew your old cap and screw this new locking gas cap on in its place. Each cap includes a set of keys for easy locking and unlocking. Customers report a precise fit and smooth operation, and the lock is sturdy for daily use. If you prefer added security for your fuel tank, this cap is a solid, reliable choice and ships quickly from GoWesty.
