Will this Skylight Seal fit my Vanagon, and how do I know it’s compatible?

Great question! This Skylight Seal is designed to fit ALL Vanagon Westfalia skylights from 1980 to 1991—whether you have 2WD or 4WD, any body trim level, or transmission type. If your Vanagon is within these model years, you can buy with confidence knowing this seal will match perfectly. Just double-check that you have a factory Westfalia skylight, and you’re all set!

Is installing the Skylight Seal difficult? Do I need special tools or experience?

While some folks mention that installing the Skylight Seal can be a bit trickier than swapping out the pop-top seal, most find it manageable as a DIY project with minimal tools. GoWesty includes clear step-by-step PDF instructions AND a handy YouTube video that guides you along the whole process. The keys to success are taking your time and following each step carefully. Many customers say the fit is snug and results are leak-free when installed properly—so with a little patience, you’ll have your skylight sealed up tight!

Does the Skylight Seal really stop leaks? I’m worried about water getting into my Vanagon.

Absolutely! Stopping leaks and keeping water out is the #1 job of this Skylight Seal. Customers consistently report that it solved their persistent skylight drips and provided a perfect, waterproof fit. The seal is engineered specifically for the Westfalia skylight, so as long as you ensure the old seal is fully removed and you install the new one per the provided instructions, you can count on a tight, leak-free result—rain or shine!
