Will this Sliding Door Handle with Keys fit my Vanagon?

This Sliding Door Handle with Keys is designed to fit early Vanagon models from 1980 through 1984, and some 1985s. Be sure to check your specific Vanagon's model year before purchasing to confirm compatibility.

What’s different about the key included with this aftermarket Vanagon sliding door handle?

This handle comes with an 'AH' style key, which is not the same as the original 'N' style key that came with your factory Vanagon handles. Make sure to keep both keys if you’re running a mix of original and aftermarket handles.

How can I check if this sliding door handle will match my Vanagon’s original hardware?

Before purchasing, measure your existing handle and compare it to the dimensions listed on GoWesty’s product page. Also, remember that this handle is meant for early models; later Vanagons may require a different handle style.

Do I need any extra hardware to install this sliding door handle with keys?

You may need to purchase a new gasket and mounting screws, as they are not always included with the aftermarket handle. Having these parts ready ensures a smooth and complete installation.

Any tips for a smooth buying and installation process for this Vanagon sliding door handle?

Double-check your Vanagon's model year and handle style before purchasing. If you have a 1985, make sure your handle matches the early design. For installation, keep both the new 'AH' key and any original keys handy, and consider replacing the gasket and screws for best results.
