What do these torque plates actually do for my CV joints?

These torque plates are designed for standard size 100mm CV joints to help evenly distribute the clamping force of your CV bolts, which reduces the likelihood of them coming loose over time.

How many packs of Torque Plates for CV Joint (Pack of 3) [Bus/Vanagon] do I need to buy?

One pack is required per CV joint. For a 1968-79 Bus or 1980-91 2WD Vanagon (rear axles), you will need four packs to do both axles. For a 1986-91 4WD Vanagon, you will need six packs to cover the front inner and rear axles.

Will these fit my specific vehicle?

These plates fit all 1968-79 Bus and 1980-91 Vanagon 2WD & Syncro models. Please note they are for standard size 100mm CV joints and will not fit 108mm 930 joints.

Are these compatible with both the Bus and the Vanagon?

Yes, they are compatible with both. They fit the rear axles of 1968-79 Buses and 1980-91 2WD Vanagons, as well as the front inner and rear axles of 1986-91 4WD Vanagons.
