Why should I choose this stainless steel bracket over the original plastic parts?

Over time, the original plastic elbow and resistor brackets become brittle and break easily. This stainless steel bracket replaces both original plastic parts (255-070-124D and 253-260-183), eliminating the need for the elbow combination and providing a much stronger, more durable assembly.

Will this A/C Resistor Bracket fit my specific Vanagon model?

This bracket fits all hard-top Vanagons from 1985-91 and all pop-top Vanagons from 1986.5-91 that have the all-plastic A/C cabinet. Please note that it does not fit Vanagons equipped with the factory in-dash Behr A/C.

Do I need to buy any other parts to complete the installation?

To achieve a complete and strengthened resistor assembly, you should combine this bracket with your original metal resistor clamp.

Where can I find instructions on how to install this bracket?

For detailed installation steps, please refer to Section 87.10 of your Bentley Repair Manual.
