We worked closely with the manufacturer to produce this very high-quality alternator to replace the original Bosch unit for which there have been no new replacements for many decades. The #1 thing that ruins an otherwise good alternator is a bad starting battery. When replacing an alternator, it is imperative that your starting battery has been verified to be in proper working order (fluid and load checked, and not too old; replace if in doubt) and is fully charged. Always check that the charging voltage is within specifications (per the Bentley repair manual) after replacing an alternator. Following these steps will place your charging and starting issues squarely in your rear-view mirror!
