Will this headlight wiring harness fit my Vanagon, and what headlight types is it compatible with?

This harness is specifically designed for Vanagons with the South African (S.A.) grille setup or with H4 rectangular headlights. If your Vanagon has these rectangular H4 lenses or the S.A. grille, this harness is the right fit. For compatibility, double-check your headlight style; if you're using round headlights or a different grille, a different harness may be required.

What’s included in the GoWesty Headlight Wiring Harness kit?

The kit includes a high-quality, plug-and-play wiring harness with all necessary relays, connectors, and fittings for a straightforward installation. Everything needed to upgrade the wiring is in the box—no need to hunt for extra parts. All connectors are designed to be durable and weather-resistant, matching or exceeding OEM standards.

Can I install this harness myself, or do I need professional help?

Most Vanagon owners with basic tools and mechanical experience can install this harness themselves. The kit comes with a clear and detailed instruction manual written for DIYers, with helpful tips and step-by-step guidance. If you’re comfortable with standard automotive wiring, you should be able to handle this at home. If you’re unsure, a qualified mechanic or auto electrician can take care of the installation quickly.

What benefits does this harness offer compared to the original factory wiring?

This harness significantly improves headlight brightness and reliability by delivering more direct and consistent power to your headlamps. It uses beefier wiring and relays to reduce voltage drop, protecting your switchgear and extending bulb life. Customers often report noticeably brighter headlights and increased night driving safety after upgrading.

What if I change my grille or headlight style? Will this harness still work?

This harness is designed specifically for S.A. grilles and H4 rectangular headlights. If you switch to round headlights or a different grille setup, you will need a different harness tailored to that configuration. For questions about changing styles or getting the right harness, contact GoWesty support—they’re happy to help you pick the perfect product for your setup.
