What are the advantages of installing a Viscous Coupler Eliminator Straight Shaft in my Vanagon, and how will it affect vehicle performance?

Installing the Viscous Coupler Eliminator Straight Shaft removes the factory viscous coupler, which can fail or become less efficient over time. This upgrade is ideal for owners who want a durable, no-nonsense setup for demanding conditions or off-road use.

How difficult is it to install the Viscous Coupler Eliminator Straight Shaft? Can it be done at home by a DIY enthusiast?

Installation of the Viscous Coupler Eliminator Straight Shaft is considered straightforward for mechanically inclined DIYers familiar with working on Vanagon drivetrains. Basic hand tools and standard safety practices are all that’s required, as no special modifications are needed. Many Vanagon enthusiasts have successfully completed this upgrade at home.
