Will these grommets fit both the driver and passenger side wiper shafts on my 1985 Vanagon?

Yes, this pair of grommets is designed to fit both the left (driver) and right (passenger) front windshield wiper shafts on all 1980-1991 Vanagon models, including your 1985 model.

Can I use these grommets for the rear wiper shaft on my Vanagon?

No, these grommets are specifically made for the front windshield wiper shafts. The rear wiper shaft on Vanagon models does not use this type of grommet.

Are these grommets suitable for Vanagons with both 2WD and 4WD drivetrains?

Absolutely. These quality aftermarket grommets fit all Vanagon models regardless of whether they have 2WD or 4WD, so they'll work perfectly for your setup.

I'm concerned about water leaking under the dash through the wiper shaft hole. Will these grommets help with that?

Yes, these grommets provide an effective water seal around the wiper shafts, helping prevent water from entering under the dash, which is highlighted positively in customer reviews.

Is installation complicated for these wiper shaft grommets, or can I do it myself?

Installation is straightforward. The grommets come as a pair and fit snugly onto the front wiper shafts. If you're comfortable with basic vehicle maintenance, you should be able to install them yourself without any special tools.
