Will this front lower air grille fit my 1987 Vanagon Westfalia Camper?

Yes, this grille fits all water-cooled Vanagon models from 1983 to 1991, including your 1987 Westfalia Camper. It's designed to perfectly match the original dimensions for an easy fit.

What's the difference between the Deluxe and Budget versions?

The Deluxe version closely matches the original OEM quality, with a flawless finish. The Budget version is more affordable but may have minor blemishes on the top edge due to molding. Both fit properly and work well, so you can choose based on your budget and cosmetic preference.

Is installation difficult? Do I need special tools?

Installation is straightforward since this grille is a direct fit replacement. Basic tools like screwdrivers are sufficient. We recommend checking a Vanagon service guide for step-by-step help, but most customers find it easy to replace themselves.

Can this grille be used if my Vanagon has a different engine or transmission?

Yes, compatibility covers all engine types and transmissions used in water-cooled Vanagons from 1983-1991. The grille's fit is independent of the engine or transmission setup.

I've heard budget options have blemishes. Are they noticeable when installed?

The minor blemishes on the Budget grille are mostly on the top edge and are subtle. Once installed, especially from a normal viewing distance, most customers find them hard to notice. The Budget option offers great value if you're okay with a slight cosmetic compromise.

Front lower air grille for 1983-91 water-cooled Vanagon models only. Aftermarket.

Quality note: This front lower air grille is available in two qualities: Deluxe and Budget. The deluxe grille is all very close to OEM-VW quality. The budget grille has slight blemishes along the top edge where they come off the plastic mold. Nothing major, but is the reason for the significantly lower price.
