What exactly does this Plastic Guide for Front Seat Track do for my Vanagon?

This plastic guide is designed to tighten up your front Vanagon seat, reducing play and improving stability. It specifically addresses the seat track for a snugger fit, enhancing your overall driving experience.

Will this seat track guide fit my 1988 Vanagon Westfalia 2WD?

Yes, this guide is compatible with all Vanagon models from 1980 to 1991, including both 2WD and 4WD versions, and various transmission types. Whether you have a Westfalia, a Syncro, or another Vanagon variant, this seat track guide should fit. You'll need one guide piece for either the left or right front seat.

Is this guide difficult to install? Do I need special tools?

Installation is straightforward. We even have an installation video available to walk you through the process. Typically, no special tools are required beyond basic hand tools you'd likely already have for Vanagon maintenance. It's a simple fix to improve your seat's feel.

I'm also looking at the Swivel Seat Bushing Set. Should I get both the guide and the bushings?

Many Vanagon owners find that addressing both the seat track guide and the Swivel Seat Bushing Set provides the most comprehensive improvement for front seat stability and function. While this guide tightens the track itself, the bushings address swivel movement. They are often purchased together for optimal results.
