Will this Banjo Bolt/Washer Kit fit my 1987 VW Vanagon with the GoWesty Rear Disc Brake Kit?

Yes, this Banjo Bolt/Washer Kit is designed specifically for all 1980–1991 VW Vanagon models equipped with GoWesty Bigger Brakes or Rear Disc Brake Kits. If your 1987 Vanagon has either of those GoWesty kits, this product will fit perfectly.

Can I use this kit with my stock Vanagon brakes or does it only work with GoWesty upgrades?

This kit is intended only for use with GoWesty Bigger Brakes Kits and GoWesty Rear Disc Brake Kits. It does not fit or work with the stock brake setup on Vanagons. If you haven’t upgraded to GoWesty brakes, this isn’t the right replacement kit for you.

What exactly does this Banjo Bolt/Washer Kit include?

The kit includes a replacement banjo bolt and a crush washer sized specifically for the brake line connections in the GoWesty Bigger Brakes and Rear Disc Brake systems for 1980–1991 Vanagon. You get what you need to replace the banjo bolt and washer at a single brake hose connection.

Is there anything special I need to do when installing this banjo bolt and washer on my GoWesty brake kit?

When installing the new banjo bolt and crush washer, make sure both mating surfaces are clean and free of debris to ensure a tight seal. Always torque the bolt to the recommended spec for your GoWesty kit (check your specific kit instructions). After installation, bleed the brakes and check carefully for leaks before driving.

Is this an original GoWesty part, and is it compatible with other brands' brake kits?

This Banjo Bolt/Washer Kit is manufactured by GoWesty and made for their Bigger Brakes and Rear Disc Brake Kits. We don’t recommend using it with brake kits from other brands, as sizing and thread pitch may not be compatible.
