Will this Gray Water Drain Cap fit my Vanagon, and how do I confirm compatibility?

This Gray Water Drain Cap is designed specifically for late-model Volkswagen Vanagons. It fits Vanagon years 1986-1991, including all engine types, drive configurations, and transmissions for those years. To ensure proper fitment, check that your existing gray water tank outlet matches the thread size and design of this cap. If your original cap is missing or worn, this replacement drain cap is made to OEM specifications, so it will restore a factory-tight seal for your tank.

What features does the GoWesty Gray Water Drain Cap offer, and how is it different from my original cap?

GoWesty's drain cap is molded with high-quality materials for a long-lasting replacement that resists UV damage and cracking. A major upgrade is the included retainer strap, which keeps the cap attached to your Vanagon, so you'll never lose it accidentally during draining. The secure fit helps prevent leaks and odors from escaping your gray water tank. Many Vanagon owners choose this cap as an upgrade or direct replacement for missing, cracked, or hard-to-turn original caps.

Is installation of the Gray Water Drain Cap easy, and are there tips for maintenance or care?

Yes, installing your new drain cap is quick and straightforward—simply screw it onto the drain outlet until it's firmly sealed. The attached retainer strap clips conveniently onto the tank or bracket to avoid misplacement. For maintenance, periodically inspect the sealing surface and clean off any debris to ensure a tight fit. If your old drain cap is worn, cracked, or hard to remove, replacing it with this GoWesty cap restores proper sealing and peace of mind on the road. GoWesty's excellent support team is always available if you have any installation or fitment questions.
