Is this Thetford portable toilet really the best for small spaces like a VW Camper?

Yes, the Thetford Portable Toilet is specifically praised for its compact design, making it an excellent fit for VW Campers and other vehicles where space is limited. Its dimensions (12.2"H x 13.4"W x 15"D) allow it to be conveniently placed without taking up too much room.

How does the flushing system work on this portable toilet, and how many flushes can I expect?

This toilet features a bellows pump that uses fresh water for flushing. The 2.6-gallon fresh water tank provides approximately 27 flushes on average per full tank, ensuring you have enough for multiple uses before needing to refill.

Emptying and cleaning sound like they could be messy. How does this toilet handle waste disposal?

Thetford has designed this portable toilet with ease of use in mind. It includes an exclusive rotating pour-out spout for mess-free emptying, and a sealed slide valve helps manage odors effectively. The seat and cover are also removable for simple and thorough cleaning.

I've heard some portable toilets have odor issues. Does this Thetford toilet have a good odor control system?

Absolutely. This portable toilet is built with odor management as a priority. It features a sealed slide valve to prevent smells from escaping the waste holding tank, and also includes a built-in deodorant storage compartment (a sample is included) to help keep your space fresh.

Over the years, we've experimented with a lot of different portable toilets. This one is by far the best one on the market. It's small in stature, but still gets the job done.

Note: The compact size of this toilet is perfect for storing in a VW Camper, but it does come at the expense of a smaller seat. If you prefer to have a full-size toilet seat, this may not be the product for you.
