Will this Rear Disc Brake Pad Set fit my VW Bus or Vanagon, and how do I confirm compatibility?

This Rear Disc Brake Pad Set (VW #7D0698451J, D877-7754) is designed to fit 1971-79 VW Buses and 1980-91 VW Vanagons equipped with the GoWesty rear disc brake conversion kit. If your Vanagon or Bus still has factory rear drum brakes, this pad set will not be compatible. For 1997-03 Eurovan models with original factory rear disc brakes, these pads are a direct fit. Check your current brake system (disc vs. drum) and look for the GoWesty rear disc setup before ordering to ensure the correct fit.

How difficult is it to install the GoWesty Rear Disc Brake Pad Set, and can I do it myself at home?

Installing this Rear Disc Brake Pad Set is straightforward, especially for those with basic mechanical experience and tools. Many DIY enthusiasts have successfully replaced their rear disc brake pads at home using the GoWesty kit. Make sure your vehicle is safely supported, follow the included instructions, and double-check pad alignment and hardware torque. If you are new to brake work, consider researching online guides or videos specific to your Bus, Vanagon, or Eurovan. Always test your brakes thoroughly after installation for your safety.

How does the quality and performance of these aftermarket Brake Pads compare to OEM parts?

These aftermarket Rear Disc Brake Pads are trusted by GoWesty customers for their excellent performance and braking consistency. Manufactured to meet or exceed OEM specifications, they provide strong stopping power and improved pedal feel, especially when replacing worn old pads. By upgrading to these quality pads, you can experience smoother braking and better reliability whether you drive a classic Bus, Vanagon (with disc kit), or Eurovan. Proper maintenance and periodic checks will ensure long-lasting, dependable performance.
