Will this muffler strap fit my early water-cooled Vanagon?

Yes, this GoWesty-designed strap is specifically made to fit 1983, 1984, and 1985 water-cooled Vanagons, including 2WD models like the Westfalia Camper, Carat, and Multivan.

What is the advantage of choosing the stainless steel version over the original?

The stainless steel construction is designed for longevity and resistance to corrosion. Unlike non-stainless straps that may rust through in a few years, this version is built to last even when driven through salted northern winters.

How many of these straps do I need to order for my vehicle?

You will need one muffler strap per muffler.

Is this strap easy to install on my own?

Yes, customers have found this part easy to install. Depending on the condition of your existing hardware, you may need to remove rusted bolts and nuts, but the strap itself is designed to be a straightforward replacement of the original.
