12V DC-DC Alternator & Solar Charging Install Kit for all Vanagon. This wiring kit is designed specifically for the 30A Renogy RBC30D1S DC-DC Charger, which is not included and must be purchased separately.
Original price $100. Now on sale for $80 while supplies last.
This kit includes everything you'll need to install a Renogy DC-DC Charger (#RBC30D1S) under or behind your driver's seat and take advantage of its massive 350W charging capacity. We provide fused 8 AWG wires to charge an auxiliary battery (like our LiFePo4 Battery) located under the driver's seat or under the Westfalia sink. You'll also receive hardware and instructions to guide you through making the connections that charge your battery and power your radio, 12V outlets, interior lights, sink, and anything else you connect to your auxiliary battery. The Renogy DC-DC charger (#RBC30D1S) is designed exclusively for direct current (DC) input from your alternator and solar panels. It cannot be used with a standard 110V AC household outlet. If you need to charge from a 110V AC source, we recommend the NOCO Genius GenPro 10x2 Battery Charger.
Fits: All 1980-91 Vanagon models
Note: Because solar installations vary significantly, solar wiring is not included with this kit. If you're looking for a good way to connect your solar panel to your van, check out our Solar Hook-Up Box.
Nice having everything in one package. recommend you read the instructions fully before beginning, as I have the original fridge set up and intend to continue to run it off the alternator when driving.
This kit is almost perfect, but necessary to get the job done easier. I wish it came with thicker gauge cables and I still had to go to the store to get everything fit and finish. Still better than sourcing it all individually and building my own kit.
Product is really nice, works fantastic. However there is room for improvement as follows:
1. Eyelet for sink power wire is too small to fit battery or charger terminal.
2. Seat removal instructions are incorrect; seat slides out then 13mm nuts release swivel assembly.
3. Routing wire from passenger battery to aux compartment is a PITA, it has to be the shortest route possible to reach the undersink mount location, and installing the helpful frame clips is impossible without removing other components.
3. The otherwise great instructions left out a lot of details about the aux power wire run to the dash, I had to figure out what was supposed to happen.
Thanks!
Great kit and walk through instructions. Got me up and running with my house power like a pro. Thank you.
