Will this sliding door seal fit my specific Vanagon model?

This seal is designed to fit all 1980-1991 left-hand drive Vanagons, including 2WD and 4WD models. It is compatible with various configurations such as the Westfalia Camper, Weekender, Multivan, Carat, and 7-Passenger models, regardless of whether you have a manual or automatic transmission.

Do I need any glue or adhesive to install the seal?

Yes, you should use weatherstrip adhesive when installing the sliding door seal to ensure a secure and lasting fit.

I've heard some seals can be too big for the frame; how do I ensure a proper fit?

This high-quality seal is designed to fit perfectly, but to avoid issues, be careful not to stretch the material during installation. Some users find that a bit of fiddling is required, but the result is a seal that is often better quality than the original.

There is a tab on the seal; where exactly should it be positioned?

To ensure the seal is installed correctly, the tab must be aligned with the striker pin toward the rear of the vehicle.
