How many of these CV axle circlips do I actually need for my Vanagon or Bus?

For 2WD models, you'll need a total of four circlips. If you have a 4WD Syncro Vanagon, you'll need six circlips. Remember, these are sold as a pair, so plan your purchase accordingly!

Will this circlip fit my specific year and model Vanagon or Type 2 Bus?

Yes, these circlips are designed to fit all original OEM-size axle shafts for 1968-79 Type 2 Buses and all Vanagon models, including Syncro (except for the front outer position). They work with both automatic and manual transmissions across many years, so check the compatibility list for your exact model.

Are these the correct clips if I'm replacing axle seals on my Vanagon?

These circlips are specifically for securing the CV axle shaft. They are not the internal clips used where the CV axle connects to the transmission. Please ensure you're ordering the correct part for your specific repair to avoid confusion.

Can I use these circlips on aftermarket or high-performance axle shafts like 930 axles?

These circlips are manufactured for original OEM-size axle shafts found on the specified Vanagon and Type 2 Bus models. They are NOT compatible with 930 axle shafts, so please verify your axle type before purchasing.
