This CV joint flange seal is crucial for keeping grease inside your CV joint and preventing dirt and water from getting in, which can cause serious damage. You'll likely need to replace it if you notice grease leaking around your CV joints, or if you hear clicking or grinding noises during turns. It's a preventative measure that helps ensure your manual transaxle and differential, including Syncro front differentials, function smoothly.
