LED Light Bar Mounting Brackets. Super exciting, right? Yes! LED light bars are very popular for a very good reason. The more light you can safely throw down the road the better, especially when you leave the pavement. Driving at night is inherently dangerous, so add some auxiliary lighting to minimize the risk and maximize the fun.
All mounting points to the body are hidden behind the front grille, making these brackets the most discreet way to add front-facing LED light bar to your Vanagon. While these brackets can be used with a multitude of light bars, we really like the super-quality, and ultra low-profile 30" Dual Carbine Hybrid Beam LED Bar.
Kit includes:
Fits: All 1980-91 Vanagon models
Installation requirements: Requires drilling six (6) small holes in vehicle body
Installation Notes: Most auxiliary light kits use either 8mm or 10mm bolts for their primary mounting (ex: STL Hybrid-Beam LED Lights [8mm], Hella 500 Fog Lights [10mm]). The bracket holes are sized for a 10mm bolt.
Our assembly instructions show our mounting recommendations for rigidly installing Speed Tech Lights' 30" lightbar. There are many other lengths and brands of lightbars which will fit and install differently than our recommended procedure.
Installing Speed Tech Lights' 30" bar, requires using the rear slot mounting option which rigidly fixes your lightbar without angle adjustability. We find that the hybrid spot and flood beam on STL's lightbar has a wide beam that does not require angle adjustment when installed in this location.
