Are these NGK Spark Plugs compatible with my 1988 Vanagon?

Yes, these NGK Iridium Spark Plugs (part number BPR6EIX-4) are specifically designed for the GoWesty Fuel Injection Component Replacement Kit (GW-EFI) and are compatible with Vanagon models from 1986 through 1991. If you have the original Volkswagen Digijet or Digifant injection system, you'll need a different spark plug, the NGK BR6ES.

What is the difference between these GW-EFI spark plugs and the standard NGK BR6ES plugs?

The key difference is that these NGK Iridium Spark Plugs (BPR6EIX-4) are engineered exclusively for use with the GoWesty Fuel Injection Component Replacement Kit (GW-EFI). The NGK BR6ES plugs are intended for the original Digijet or Digifant fuel injection systems found in some Vanagon models. Using the incorrect spark plug can affect performance.

Why does GoWesty recommend carrying spare spark plugs for the GW-EFI system?

It's always a good idea to carry spare parts, especially for essential components like spark plugs, particularly if you're undertaking a long journey or venturing into remote areas. Having a spare set of these NGK Iridium Spark Plugs ensures you can quickly replace one if it becomes fouled or damaged, minimizing downtime and keeping your Vanagon running smoothly.

What makes these NGK Iridium Spark Plugs a good choice for the GW-EFI system?

These NGK Iridium Spark Plugs are chosen for their superior performance and durability, which are crucial for the optimized operation of the GoWesty Fuel Injection Component Replacement Kit (GW-EFI). Iridium offers excellent ignitability and a longer lifespan compared to standard plugs, contributing to efficient fuel combustion and reliable engine performance with your GW-EFI setup.
