Will this coolant temperature sensor fit my Vanagon?

This Blue coolant temperature sensor (part number 025-906-041A) is designed specifically for all 2.1L Volkswagen Vanagon models built from 1986 to 1991, including both 2WD and Syncro (4WD) versions. If your Vanagon has the 2.1L water-boxer engine with fuel injection from those years, this sensor is the correct fit.

What do I need to know about installing this temperature sensor?

Installation is straightforward and similar to the original factory sensor. The sensor threads into the engine's coolant manifold, and it's recommended to replace the O-ring at the same time for a proper seal. Make sure to install the sensor when the engine is cool to avoid burns and coolant loss. No special tools are required, and the electrical connector simply plugs onto the new sensor.

What issues can a new coolant temperature sensor solve, and what's included?

A faulty coolant temperature sensor can cause poor running, hard starts, or incorrect readings on your dashboard. Replacing it with this aftermarket sensor restores accurate coolant temperature information to your engine management system, helping improve reliability and performance. This listing is for the sensor only; if you need a new O-ring, please add it to your order for best results.
