What exactly is included in the GoWesty Thermostat Housing Bundle for my Vanagon?

This bundle is designed to give you all the essential OEM-style replacement parts for your Vanagon's thermostat housing system. You'll receive the Lower thermostat housing, the Upper thermostat housing (cover), a new Thermostat with its o-ring, the crucial O-ring that seals the housing to the head, and two additional O-rings specifically for the temperature senders. It's a comprehensive kit to help you get the job done right and save money compared to buying parts individually.

Will this Thermostat Housing Bundle fit my 1989 Vanagon?

This specific bundle is designed to fit 1986-91 Vanagons, but only the 2WD models. It's important to note that it does NOT work for the 4WD Syncro models. Please double-check your van's drivetrain configuration to ensure compatibility.

Is this a genuine VW part, or what's the quality like for this Thermostat Housing Bundle?

The parts in this bundle are high-quality aftermarket replacements designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications. While not direct VW-stamped parts, they offer a reliable and cost-effective solution for replacing your Vanagon's thermostat housing system, ensuring good performance and longevity.

I saw you also offer an anodized billet aluminum housing. How does this bundle compare, and is there an upgrade path?

This bundle provides essential OEM-style replacement parts for a straightforward refresh of your thermostat housing system. The separately available Anodized Billet Aluminum GoWesty Thermostat Housing Kit is an upgrade option, offering enhanced durability and a different aesthetic. If you're looking for a more robust and premium solution, you might consider that kit instead, which also comes with PDF instructions for installation.
